💬 WhatsApp directlyDesigned specifically for CEOs, senior executives, detectives, police, military, lawyers, surgeons, and other high-functioning professionals who cannot — or will not — disappear for 30 days.
You do not need a month in a facility to break a physical dependency. You need a safe, medically supervised environment, the right clinical support, and enough time for your body to stabilise. Duration is determined by your substance, your history, and your clinical assessment — and it starts at seven days. We handle everything else.
After you leave Bali, your 90-day Recovery Companion stays with you — daily check-ins, AI-powered recovery coaching, relapse prevention support and emergency assistance, running silently alongside your working life. You get stable. You go back. You keep going.
What is included
The CEO & senior executive
Cannot be seen entering a facility. Cannot be away for a month. Has a board meeting in two weeks. Needs this handled quietly, completely, and fast.
The detective & police officer
Career consequences are real. Discretion is non-negotiable. Physical dependency is interfering with performance and they know it. Ready to deal with it — privately.
The military & defence professional
Has self-managed for years. Knows the system cannot know. Needs clinically sound withdrawal management without it touching their record, their clearance, or their unit.
The surgeon, lawyer & specialist
Functional. High-performing. The dependency is the only thing they cannot manage alone. They will not take a month. Seven days — clinically supervised, precisely managed — is where it starts.
The FIFO & mining worker
Between rotations. Has a narrow window. Needs to be functional before the next swing. Clean, clinical, fast — and back on site without anyone knowing.
Many clients who arrive for withdrawal management choose to extend into a deeper recovery programme once they experience the environment and the clarity that stabilisation brings. There is no obligation to commit to more — but the option is always there.
Why we publish our price
We list our pricing openly because we believe the people we serve deserve clarity — not a phone call designed to qualify their budget. If our fee is beyond your reach right now, we would rather you know immediately so you can explore alternatives. If it is within reach, we would rather get straight to the conversation that matters.
Why Sabalical
01
Rapid access — no waitlists
Clinical assessment and withdrawal management confirmed within 24–72 hours of first contact. While Australia's public system measures wait times in weeks and months, we measure ours in hours. When crisis arrives, speed is clinical necessity — not a private feature.
02
Your environment, chosen for you
No fixed facility. No institutional rooms. Your accommodation — beachfront, jungle retreat, or private villa — is selected to match your personality, preferences, and clinical needs before you arrive. Recovery heals faster when the environment feels like it was made for you.
03
Integrated recovery
Trauma-informed therapy, nervous system regulation, medically supervised withdrawal management, structured nutrition, fitness, and 60 complimentary days of aftercare with the same clinical team. Not a checklist — a continuum.
Your environment
Most rehabs assign you a room in a building built for dozens of strangers. We do something different — and we believe it is one of the most important things we do. Your accommodation is selected before you arrive, chosen specifically for you, your personality, your clinical needs, and what will make you feel most at ease.
Beachfront
For those who find calm in open water, salt air, and the sound of waves. Morning swims, surf therapy, and sunset walks as part of your daily structure. Sanur, Pererenan, or Seminyak coastline depending on availability and your preference.
Jungle & rice fields
For those who need to disappear completely. Total seclusion, birdsong, green canopy, and the kind of quiet a city-exhausted nervous system craves. Ubud, Tegallalang, or Tabanan highlands. Private pools, outdoor yoga pavilions, complete privacy.
Private villa — Canggu or Seminyak
For those who want lifestyle proximity alongside recovery — access to wellness studios, cold plunge facilities, high-end dining, and Bali's creative energy. Structured freedom within a clinically managed environment.
Scaled to your group
Whether you are a solo admission or arriving as part of a small group, your accommodation is sized to your number. A single client might have a two-bedroom beachfront villa entirely to themselves. A group of four would have a five-bedroom private residence — no shared spaces with strangers, no institutional dining rooms, no corridors of doors. Just a home, chosen for you, for the duration of your stay.
This is not a limitation of our model. It is the whole point. Fixed facilities are built for volume. We are built for you.
All properties are exclusively booked for Sabalical clients. No other guests. No shared reception. No public areas.
Why exceptional people choose Sabalical
Many people assume that more time in recovery equals better results. The evidence is far more nuanced. Sabalical exists for the rare person who applies the same rigour to their recovery that they apply to every other decision: selecting the best available option, not the most conventional one. Clinically calibrated to your substance and physiology. Private. Expert. Back in your life before anyone needs to wonder where you went.
🔒
A week away is explainable. A month away is not — particularly for executives, professionals and public figures who cannot disappear from their lives without consequences. Confidentiality is not just a feature of our programme. For many of our clients, it is the prerequisite that makes treatment possible at all. Seven days can be managed. Thirty days often cannot — and so it never happens.
🧠
The moment someone decides they are ready is the most important moment in recovery. That window is narrow. A programme that can mobilise within 24–72 hours captures motivation at its peak. Waitlists kill readiness. By the time a residential bed becomes available — often weeks away — the window may have closed. We move when you are ready, not when a system is ready for you.
📱
Research consistently shows that continuing care and ongoing support after discharge produces better long-term outcomes than extended residential stay alone. The Sabalical Recovery Companion — 90 days of daily check-ins, AI coaching and relapse prevention support — is built specifically for the highest-risk period: the weeks and months after treatment ends. We are with you for 90 days, not just 7.
🌿
Bali's climate, culture and natural environment are not incidental to recovery — they are part of the treatment. The change of scene, the removal from familiar triggers, the physical beauty and the presence of traditional Balinese healing practices all contribute to nervous system regulation in ways that a domestic facility cannot replicate. Seven days in this environment achieves what months of effort at home cannot.
👁
A longer residential programme is a group model by necessity — the economics require volume. Sabalical accepts a maximum of four clients at any one time. Your clinical team has one focus during your stay. The villa is yours. The chef is yours. The programme is built around you specifically. The level of individual attention a short-stay boutique model provides is structurally impossible in a larger facility.
What the evidence says
Research in addiction medicine consistently shows that intensity of treatment and quality of aftercare predict outcomes more reliably than duration of residential stay. McKay et al. (2009) found that continuing care interventions — daily check-ins, coaching and accountability — significantly improved long-term recovery outcomes. The Sabalical model is built on this evidence. A focused acute intervention followed by 90 days of structured continuing care is not a shorter version of treatment. It is a different and evidence-aligned model of care.
Is Sabalical right for you?
Well suited for
✓ High-functioning individuals who cannot take extended leave
✓ People requiring maximum privacy and confidentiality
✓ Clients who have relapsed after longer residential stays
✓ Burnout and nervous system exhaustion
✓ Those who are highly motivated and ready to engage with aftercare
We will tell you honestly if longer care is needed
For presentations involving severe polysubstance dependency, complex psychiatric co-occurring conditions, or previous failed short-stay attempts, a longer residential programme may produce better outcomes. We will tell you this during your clinical assessment — and if that is the case, Sabalical Concierge™ will personally coordinate your placement with a trusted partner programme.
Our goal is your recovery. Not filling a bed.
Bali, Indonesia · the landscape of recovery
Co-occurring conditions & co-occurring conditions
The majority of our clients do not present with a single, clean diagnosis. They arrive with addiction layered over trauma, burnout compounded by untreated ADHD, depression sitting beneath Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), or anxiety driving prescription misuse. This is not unusual — it is the norm. It is called co-occurring conditions, and it is our primary area of expertise.
Most common pairing
Addiction + Trauma
Substance use is frequently a nervous system's attempt to self-regulate after traumatic experience. Treating the addiction without addressing the underlying trauma is why most people relapse. We treat both simultaneously.
Highly prevalent
ADHD & Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
ADHD frequently co-occurs with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), as individuals often use alcohol or drugs to temporarily regulate symptoms such as impulsivity, emotional overwhelm, or chronic under-stimulation. Undiagnosed or undertreated ADHD is one of the most overlooked drivers of addiction in high-achieving individuals. We screen every client for neurodevelopmental conditions as standard.
Executive profile
Burnout, Depression & Alcohol Use Disorder
Sustained high performance creates a physiological debt. When the body calls it in, depression and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) often arrive together. Neither responds well to recovery care in isolation — they share a common nervous system root of dysregulation that must be addressed directly through integrated, trauma-informed care.
Service community
PTSD, Complex Trauma & Substance Use Disorder
Veterans, defence, and security professionals frequently present with PTSD, complex trauma, Substance Use Disorder and moral injury as interlocked conditions. These presentations require trauma-informed care from clinicians who understand this world — not generic recovery programmes built for corporate burnout. Ours was designed specifically for this profile.
Co-occurring conditions
Anxiety & Prescription Medication Dependence
Benzodiazepine and prescription opioid dependence frequently develops in the context of treated or untreated anxiety disorders and chronic pain. Medically supervised withdrawal management — combined with root-cause therapeutic work addressing the underlying anxiety — is the only sustainable resolution. We treat both conditions simultaneously, not sequentially.
Complex presentation
Attachment Trauma & Relationship Difficulties
Chronic relapse cycles are almost always driven by unresolved attachment trauma and relationship difficulties — not a failure of willpower. Attachment-informed care is woven through everything we do, and addressing these relational roots is often the intervention that makes the difference on the third or fourth attempt at recovery.
Many of these presentations share an underlying pattern of nervous system dysregulation — where chronic stress, trauma, or prolonged substance use affects the body's capacity to regulate emotion, behaviour, sleep, relationships and decision-making. This is central to The Sabalical Method: before lasting recovery is possible, the nervous system must first feel safe. Also known as dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders, these presentations require integrated, trauma-informed care that addresses every layer simultaneously.
Our approach to co-occurring conditions
At Sabalical, recovery begins by understanding how trauma, nervous system dysregulation, mental health challenges and substance use interact. Co-occurring conditions — the simultaneous presence of two or more mental health or substance use presentations — are the standard clinical reality, not the exception. Every admission includes a comprehensive co-occurring conditions screen covering mood disorders, anxiety disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, attachment history, trauma exposure and physical health. Your recovery care plan addresses every layer.
Our integrated, trauma-informed approach addresses the underlying drivers of addiction while supporting lasting emotional, psychological, physiological and spiritual recovery. Because recovery that does not account for what was driving the use in the first place is not recovery. It is postponement.
We work with — but are not limited to
Balinese healing · part of the Sabalical Method™
The Sabalical Method™
Our proprietary recovery framework integrates contemporary trauma research, somatic science, and clinical medicine into a single, cohesive programme — designed from the ground up to treat co-occurring conditions and co-occurring presentations, not just the primary diagnosis. Built on science. Delivered in Bali.
At Sabalical, we believe addiction, burnout, trauma and chronic stress are not simply problems of behaviour — they are expressions of a nervous system that has adapted to survive.
Long before someone reaches for alcohol, drugs, compulsive behaviours or emotional withdrawal, the nervous system has often learned that the world is unsafe.
Healing begins when that message changes.
Our philosophy is simple:
Recovery begins when the nervous system no longer believes it is in danger.
Everything we do is intentionally designed to help the body rediscover safety, regulation, connection and resilience.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?"
We ask,
"What has your nervous system experienced, and what does it need to feel safe enough to heal?"
This philosophy underpins every interaction, every environment, every therapeutic intervention and every day of the Sabalical experience.
Medical withdrawal management & stabilisation
Evidence-based withdrawal management coordinated with Bali's leading medical network. Safe, structured, and privately managed from day one — with established referral pathways to hospital services when higher levels of care are required.
Nervous system restoration
Built on Polyvagal Theory and contemporary somatic trauma research. Regulating the autonomic nervous system is the foundation of recovery that lasts.
Trauma-informed therapy
Individual sessions incorporating CBT, EMDR, IFS, somatic therapy, and Felt Sense practices — tailored precisely to each client's clinical profile.
Physical restoration
Structured fitness, nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, IV vitamin therapy, and evidence-based biohacking to restore full body function.
Bali cultural immersion
Traditional Balinese healing, temple experiences, surf, and guided cultural engagement to build new neural pathways beyond clinical hours.
90-day complimentary aftercare
Structured aftercare with the same clinical team who supported you in residence. Continuity of care is central to preventing relapse.
Stillness · the beginning of recovery
Veterans & security professionals
Veterans, defence personnel, police, and security professionals carry a specific and often invisible burden. Operational trauma, moral injury, hypervigilance, and the compounded stress of service create patterns of addiction and nervous system dysregulation that require clinicians who understand this world — not generic rehab models built for corporate burnout.
At Sabalical, we have direct experience working with service community clients and understand the particular barriers this group faces: the stigma of seeking help, the fear of career consequences, and the deep reluctance to be seen as vulnerable. Everything here is designed to address that.
"The body keeps the score. Trauma is not stored in the thinking brain — it lives in the body. Recovery means working with the body, not just the mind."
— Dr. Bessel van der Kolk · The Body Keeps the Score
Our programme is built directly on this foundation. Somatic work, nervous system regulation, and body-based trauma processing are not optional extras here — they are the core of how we work. For service community clients carrying years of suppressed physiological stress, this approach is not just effective. It is often the only thing that works.
Bali jungle · part of your recovery journey
The Sabalical Method™ — Clinical framework
Modern trauma science has converged on a clear answer: recovery that lasts must work with the nervous system, the body, and relationships — not just cognition. Our clinical framework reflects where global trauma treatment is heading, built on the most compatible and evidence-supported combination of modalities currently available.
The integrated trauma framework
Polyvagal Theory
The neurobiological foundation of all our work. Understanding how the autonomic nervous system governs safety, threat response, and social connection — and learning to regulate it deliberately.
Somatic Experiencing
Body-based trauma processing developed by Peter Levine. Trauma is released through the body's own natural physiology, not talked out of existence.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. One of the most extensively researched trauma therapies globally. Particularly effective for PTSD, moral injury, and single-incident trauma.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
A non-pathologising model that works with the different "parts" of a person — including the protective parts that drive addictive behaviour — with curiosity rather than judgment.
Attachment theory
Understanding how early relational patterns shape adult nervous system responses — and how therapeutic relationship itself becomes a vehicle for healing.
Trauma-sensitive movement & yoga
Structured physical practice that rebuilds the body-mind connection, reduces hypervigilance, and creates a reliable sense of physical safety in the present moment.
Mindfulness & breathwork
Daily practices that train the nervous system toward regulation. Not spiritual bypass — deliberate, clinically-informed tools for rewiring stress responses.
Spiritual wellbeing & meaning-making
Recovery without meaning rarely holds. We support each client in reconnecting with a sense of purpose, values and — where relevant to them — spiritual practice, as a foundation for a life worth staying well for.
For addiction & burnout specifically
Polyvagal regulation
Addiction is often the nervous system's attempt to regulate itself. Address the regulation deficit and the substance often loses its grip.
Somatic processing
Stored physiological stress must be discharged from the body — not managed indefinitely through willpower or medication alone.
Attachment repair
Most people experiencing person experiencing high-functioning addictionion and executives in burnout share a common thread: relational disconnection. Healing attachment patterns is central to sustained recovery.
EMDR for underlying trauma
The majority of addiction and burnout presentations have unprocessed trauma beneath them. EMDR addresses root cause, not just symptom management.
Meaning & purpose rebuilding
Recovery without a compelling reason to stay recovered rarely holds. We work with each client to reconstruct identity and direction — not just sobriety.
Physical training & regulation
Structured exercise is one of the most evidence-supported interventions for both addiction and depression. It is non-negotiable in our programme.
Environment & co-regulation
The nervous system regulates best in the presence of safe others and a safe environment. Your villa is chosen for you — not assigned. The setting itself is therapeutic architecture.
Spiritual care & meaning-making
Lasting recovery is built on a reason to stay well. We help each person reconnect with what matters most to them — purpose, values and a sense of something larger than the addiction itself.
"Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health."
— Dr. Bessel van der Kolk · foundational influence on the Sabalical Method™

Conditions we treat
Sabalical provides confidential, medically supervised withdrawal management and recovery programmes for a wide range of conditions. Every programme is individually assessed and designed — not applied from a fixed protocol.
Substance
Medically supervised alcohol withdrawal management including CIWA assessment, benzodiazepine taper, IV therapy and 24-hour nursing. Acute medical withdrawal management typically requires 5–10 days, though duration is determined by individual clinical assessment. High-risk presentations (previous seizures, delirium tremens, severe liver disease, or polysubstance dependence) are referred to hospital withdrawal management prior to or instead of Sabalical admission.
Substance
Cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, prescription opioids, fentanyl, MDMA and selected GHB/GBL presentations. Typical acute withdrawal management ranges from 3–14 days depending on the substance, duration of dependence, and individual response. All protocols are prescribed by licensed doctors and administered by registered nurses (RN). Fentanyl, GHB/GBL, and polysubstance presentations require careful pre-admission assessment and may require hospital-based withdrawal management depending on severity.
Substance
Benzodiazepines, prescription opioids, sleeping medications and stimulants. Benzodiazepine and methadone dependency typically requires a medically supervised stabilisation phase followed by a psychiatric taper over weeks to months — not suitable for rapid detox. All taper protocols are individually designed and clinically managed in a completely private setting.
Mental Health
Trauma-informed care, somatic therapy and nervous system regulation for unresolved trauma, complex PTSD and trauma-related substance use. The body holds what the mind cannot process alone.
Mental Health
Executive burnout, chronic stress, adrenal exhaustion and nervous system dysregulation. A structured reset — not a holiday — for people who have run on empty for too long.
Co-Occurring
Addiction presenting alongside anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma or other mental health conditions. Our integrated approach treats the whole picture, not just the presenting substance.
Withdrawal management duration varies according to the substance used, duration of dependence, medical history, co-occurring mental health conditions, and individual response to treatment. Timeframes presented are typical evidence-based ranges only. All clients undergo comprehensive clinical assessment to determine the most appropriate level of care prior to admission.
Not sure whether your situation fits? Every enquiry is treated as confidential. Our admissions team will give you an honest assessment of whether Sabalical is the right fit — and if it isn't, we will point you toward something that is. There is no obligation and no pressure.
Further programmes
For those who are ready to go deeper from the start, or whose clinical needs require extended withdrawal management followed by immersive embodied recovery. Every programme is delivered from a private villa chosen specifically for your group.

The people behind the programme
At Sabalical, we believe that who you are supported by matters as much as what you are supported with. Every member of our team — clinical, therapeutic, medical and operational — is chosen not only for their expertise, but for their humanity.
Every member of the Sabalical team strives to create interactions characterised by calmness, compassion, consistency and respect.
Clients are not treated as problems to solve — they are people to understand.
Human beings heal best when their nervous system experiences consistent cues of safety.
Every aspect of Sabalical has been intentionally designed to communicate safety — not only through therapy, but through the entire environment our team creates around each person who arrives.
Cue 01
Recovery begins before a client arrives.
Our admissions process is confidential, welcoming, non-judgemental and clinically guided. We reduce uncertainty and help every person feel genuinely supported from their very first conversation — long before they step off a plane.
Cue 02
The physical environment speaks to the nervous system before a word is said.
Our residences are intentionally chosen and arranged to minimise stress while promoting rest, privacy, emotional regulation and a felt sense of safety. Beautiful spaces are not a private here — they are part of the treatment.
Cue 03
Predictability is one of the most powerful cues of safety available to a dysregulated nervous system.
Structured days — consistent wake times, mealtimes, therapy, movement and rest — help restore biological regulation, improve sleep, stabilise mood and rebuild the capacity for trust.
Cue 04
Healing occurs within relationships.
Every member of the Sabalical team brings calmness, compassion, consistency and genuine respect to every interaction. Our clients are not problems to solve — they are people to understand. That distinction shapes everything about how we show up.
Cue 05
The body holds what the mind has not yet processed.
Daily movement — functional training, yoga, gentle exercise and surf — is prescribed not simply for fitness, but as an essential component of nervous system regulation, emotional wellbeing and physical recovery. We move together, and something shifts.
Cue 06
The breath is the only autonomic function we can consciously control.
Intentional breathing practices help regulate autonomic responses, improve emotional flexibility and build lasting resilience. Clients leave with practical, proven skills they can reach for long after Bali — in the boardroom, at 2am, or anywhere in between.
Cue 07
Recovery requires biological healing, not just psychological work.
Whole-food nutrition, proper hydration and evidence-informed nutritional support help restore energy production, neurotransmitter function and physical wellbeing. Shared meals at consistent times also serve another purpose — they are moments of connection, belonging and quiet normalcy.
Cue 08
Consistency builds trust. Trust enables change.
Clear expectations, structured programming and reliable routines reduce anxiety and allow the nervous system to gradually release its grip on survival responses. When people know what to expect, they can begin to relax into the process of healing.
Cue 09
Isolation often maintains addiction. Connection promotes recovery.
Small group sizes, individual attention and shared therapeutic experiences foster genuine belonging, mutual accountability and real hope. We are wired for connection. At Sabalical, that wiring is part of the recovery care plan.
"Our clients are not problems to solve — they are people to understand. That distinction shapes everything about how we show up."

Common questions
We know the questions that keep people up at night. Here are honest answers.
Withdrawal management duration is substance-specific and determined by individual clinical assessment — programmes start at seven days. Typical acute medical withdrawal management ranges: heroin 3–7 days; cocaine 3–7 days; MDMA 3–5 days; methamphetamine 5–10 days; prescription opioids 4–10 days; fentanyl 5–14 days; alcohol (mild–moderate) 5–10 days; GHB/GBL 5–14 days. Benzodiazepine dependence requires stabilisation followed by ongoing psychiatric tapering over weeks to months — not suitable for rapid detox. High-risk presentations are referred to hospital services prior to admission. Following stabilisation, clients transition into embodied recovery, trauma integration and nervous system restoration — the work that makes long-term change possible.
No. Your participation in a Sabalical programme is completely confidential. We do not share any information with employers, insurers, family members or anyone else without your explicit written consent. A week in Bali is easily explainable. Nobody needs to know the specifics — and with us, they won't.
Most clients are in residence within 24–72 hours of first contact. We do not operate a waitlist. Once your clinical assessment is complete and your deposit received, we move immediately on accommodation, clinical team coordination and travel arrangements.
We will tell you honestly. If your presentation requires longer residential recovery, we will personally coordinate your placement with a trusted partner programme and remain involved in your care. Sabalical Concierge™ manages global rehab placement — you won't be handed a list of phone numbers and left to navigate it alone.
Yes — with the right clinical team. Every Sabalical client receives a full medical assessment on Day 1 by a licensed Indonesian doctor and licensed medical practitioner. 24-hour registered nursing care is provided for the first 3 days. We have pre-arranged emergency protocols with BIMC Nusa Dua and Siloam Hospitals Bali. Our clinical model is built around safety first, comfort second.
Everything. Private villa exclusively yours for the duration. All meals prepared by a private chef. Full clinical team — licensed doctor, licensed medical practitioner, psychiatrist, registered nursing care (RN), therapist and clinical lead. Airport transfers. Elective wellness treatments. IV therapy. Medications. The 90-day Recovery Companion app. The only things not included are international flights and personal expenses.
Alcohol withdrawal is one of the few substance withdrawals that can be medically life-threatening — including risk of seizure, delirium tremens and severe cardiovascular complications. Withdrawal without medical supervision is not safe for anyone with significant Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Clients with previous seizures, previous delirium tremens, severe liver disease or significant co-occurring medical conditions are referred to hospital withdrawal management before Sabalical admission. For mild-to-moderate risk presentations, our medically supervised withdrawal management programme — overseen by a licensed doctor and licensed medical practitioner, with psychiatrist support where clinically indicated — is specifically designed to keep this safe, structured and as comfortable as possible.
Yes. Our nervous system restoration programme is available to clients presenting with burnout, chronic stress, adrenal exhaustion and executive fatigue — without a substance use component. The somatic and therapeutic approach is the same. The clinical team is the same — licensed doctor, licensed medical practitioner, psychiatrist support and registered nursing care where required. The privacy and quality is the same.
