Professional Referrals

Professional Referrals
A clear pathway for
referring professionals
Sabalical welcomes referrals from psychiatrists, general practitioners, psychologists, addiction specialists, hospitals, Employee Assistance Programmes, case managers and other healthcare professionals.
Referral & Assessment
Every referral begins with clinical assessment. Suitability is determined according to clinical needs, medical and psychiatric history, substance history, risk, personal circumstances and recovery goals.
The appropriate seven-day, fourteen-day or thirty-day pathway is determined through assessment. Villa-based care is not appropriate for every presentation. Hospital-level or alternative care is recommended where required.
Coordination with
Referring Clinicians
Referring clinicians may remain involved in the client’s care where the client provides informed consent.
With consent, communication can support continuity of care, discharge planning, continuing treatment and professional aftercare.
Referral Information
Where available, the following information assists clinical assessment:
- Presenting concern or primary substance, pattern and last use.
- Previous withdrawal complications.
- Relevant medical history, current medications and allergies.
- Psychiatric history and current risk.
- Polysubstance use.
- Current treating professionals.
- Relevant travel or support considerations.
Admissions Coordination
Where required, Sabalical coordinates the practical admission pathway, including travel planning, private concierge airport meet and assist, assisted companionship through customs and immigration, escorted private transfer and programme admission.
Every programme includes two months of personalised professional aftercare.
